Presenters
Without its presenters the station would lose its soul, because it is the presenters who give the station its character and personality. While you may feel that there is too much emphasis on one sort of program over any other, the fact that you like some of the programs is a definite plus!
Like most people, just as you will like some of the people whom you meet in real life, so you will like some of the presenters on this station. I hope that you can learn to enjoy the company of some more presenters as we move through the years together.
Toby Bainbridge
Toby presents the Computer Show at 10 am on Saturdays. He started working in computers in 1974 as a trainee programmer despite having sworn that he would never have anything to do with computers as the result of a Fortran programming course at RMIT in 1962.
in 1991 he switched to teaching at Ringwood Skillshare in Melbourne and learned to slow down to his student's speed over some years. If you have ever been shown how to do something by a computer person who does not respect your need for a slow introduction you can sympathise with his students.
Toby now runs his own business as a travelling computer consultant in Maryborough and the surrounding area.

Jade Every
Jade started presenting at Goldfields FM several months ago when she was just 11 years old. This made her Goldfields FM's youngest presenter. She has recently turned 12. Jade became interested in radio after learning of a friend who was presenting, and pestered her parents for about 12 months until they brought her down to the station to see if she could become a presenter.
Jade lives on a few acres at Timor with her Mum, Dad, older sister and an assortment of pets including horses, dogs, cats, rats, birds and even a pet snake. Her show reflects her love of animals with a weekly pet segment where she gives advice and talks about her own animals.
Her other hobbies include listening to music, singing and playing musical instruments, so presenting the songs that she loves was a natural progression.
She enjoys presenting immensely and looks forward to it each week. Along with her segment on Fridays, which she presents with her best friend Erin, she has now taken on a second show on Mondays where she talks about "strange but true things": facts which she researches using the internet.
Lachlan Hickey
Dan Leddin
Dan presents the Community Hour on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. He also presents a 50s version of Anything Goes on Wednesday mornings and a Baby Boomers version on Friday mornings. Dan is part of the team which produces and reads bulletins of local news. He is also the standby announcer for almost any show that needs help.
Dan coordinates presenter training and the station production team. His technical skills are put to good use whenever a sponsor's announcement needs to be recorded or any other technical work needs doing around the station.
Dan is a member of the Board.
Allen May
Allen has been involved with community radio stations for a number of years. He is a regular presenter of music aimed at the tastes of the more mature community.
Allen has been collecting old records for the last 30 years and has had extensive involvement in radio. He is very knowledgeable on the music that he presents and loves to provide his listeners with all sorts of background information. The first program of Anything Goes started in 1985 and ran for 14 years and recommenced on 2 April 2004. Allen plays music from his original 78 RPM record collection and encompasses the period from 1897 Berlinas to 1960 (when the 78 RPM disc era ended in Australia).
Allen is a member of the Board.
Bob Osborne
Bob Osborne has been resident in Maryborough for 47 years and is a "community service freak".
He joined the Board in 2003 when the future was not promising. He took over as Chairman and, along with Bruce Leech, conducted a concerted campaign to enable Maryborough to gain a broadcasting licence for a community radio station. This culminated in the granting of our Temporary Community Broadcasting Licence in January 2007.
Bob is currently treasurer and presents a sports breakfast program on Saturday morning.
Marie Taylor
I have only been involved with community radio since I joined Goldfields FM in February 2007. I was asked to come into the studio for an interview about a CWA craft day our branch was having, and when the interview was completed and I was leaving the studio, Jan the operations manager was waiting for me at the door, and asked me if I would like to be a presenter, and after one weeks' training I was in the studio with Dan doing the Community Hour on Monday’s time slot.
My love of music and trivia about songs and their artists shone through and that was the basis for Marie’s Melodies which started in May 2007. I also have a good knowledge of cooking and craft, particularly patchwork which has been on exhibition at the local art gallery.
Jan Tribe
Jan looks after the organisational paperwork. She also presents a number of programs. Without such good support, enterprises such as Goldfields FM could not exist.
Jan is a member of the Board.
Greg Waters
Greg has been involved with music all his life. He learned to sing when he joined the Maryborough Boys' Choir back in 1937. He has been involved in dance bands and entertaining for thirty years, starting as a fill-in drummer with the Max Finch Band in 1948, then he joined the Gold Star Dance Band as the singer / compere.
With his love of country music he then formed a country music dance band called Country Sound. They played at dances and festivals until sickness stopped him in his tracks. He still entertains and plays at rest homes and hospitals, as well as club nights and hotels. He raises funds for Goldfields FM with Rita Mullins and Leo Harnetty.
He joined Goldfields FM in January 2007 on its opening day and became a presenter on Goldfields FM. Greg presents two hours of country music four days a week and he will play any country requests.
Greg is a member of the Board.
Anne Wybenga
Scott Zampatti
Scott started in community radio in Wagga Wagga in 1999 at Life FM where he hosted a number of different programs like the 80s music mix and the Top 20 Countdown. His involvement with Life FM lasted one year.
Scott's current involvement in community radio is at Goldfields FM in Maryborough, which started broadcasting in February 2007. He started by hosting two shows: Friday Night Gold and Saturday Extra. In September 2007 his work commitments forced him to abandon one show.
He is currently hosting one show, Saturday Extra, which airs from 4 pm - 6 pm on Saturday afternoons.
Scott is a member of the Board.
